This work is a collaboration with Conner Singh VanderBeek. Shown here is a screen capture of the iconic Windows XP 3D Text screensaver with the Punjabi letter ਹ, pronounced “haha”. The result is a piece that juxtaposes the heavy handed deployment of 1990s nostalgia among diasporic millennials with the propensity of Western media to simply call any non-European language “foreign”.
